Product description
Backcountry Access SR3 avalanche probe has 7 segments and folds down to 43 cm which makes its storing quite easy. Industry’s usual folded length for avalanche probes is 40 cm but this one is a little longer due to the its unusual overall length of 300 cm.
This probe is made to withstands some serious use on regular bases as it features aluminum tubing with a steel cord. The assembly is also very fast with the BCA Quickie system.
For such a strong and durable probe the BCA SR3 is quite light (300 grams) compared to other avalanche probes on the market in similar length and made of the same material.
If you are looking for as durable probe as this one but a little longer than check out Ortovox Alu 320+ PFA probe. And if you are looking for something lighter but still enough length then see BCA 240 Profile or Ortovox 240 light avalanche probes.
