Snow study or snow analysis equipment is mostly used by professionals. Heli-skiing guides, mountaineering guides, avalanche forecasters but also experienced users study snow on regular basis to learn about the current snow pack as much as they can. Snow analysis isn’t exact science but helps greatly in forecasting avalanche conditions.
