Avalanche beacons (avalanche transceivers) are the most important avalanche safety gear tools. Currently, the most popular avalanche beacons are BCA Tracker 2, Ortovox S1+, Mammut Pulse, Pieps DSP and the old BCA Tracker DTS. Beacon should be always accompanied by an avalanche probe and a snow shovel.
