Bottom line
Ortovox 320+ PFA is one of the most popular avalanche probes among more experienced users. Made of aluminum it is made to last. And the patented flash assembly system (PFA) allows you to have the probe ready in about 3 seconds, even without much practice.
Use(r) suitability
Since the 320+ PFA avalanche probe is very strong and made to last, it is the perfect probe for heavy users, mountain guides, and avalanche professionals. Also, the probe can be extended with 40 cm segments sold separately. People that prefer very light and don’t draw a probe too much might find it slightly overbuilt for their needs.
Product description
Ortovox aluminum 320+ PFA is one of the best avalanche probes on the market today. With 13 mm diameter, aluminum tubing, and steel cable this probe will last you at least couple of years even under heavy use.
EVA foam grip at the top segment makes it easy for handling and especially for deploying the probe. Simply hold the probe where the foam is, throw it in front of you and pull the fastener. You are done assembling and ready to probe.
This avalanche probe makes a great companion for Ortovox Pro Alu II or Backcountry Access Chugach snow shovels, since those were designed with the same priorities in mind – reagular heavy use under any conditions.
