Pieps iProbe is truly a revolutionary avalanche probe as it makes pinpointing very easy. Powered by a battery it is world’s first avalanche probe that searching for buried victims just like an avalanche beacon – it receives the signal and beeps.
More experienced users will be able to benefit the most from the Pieps iProbe, however, any user that is serious about an efficient avalanche rescue will like this avalanche probe a lot.
Pieps iProbe avalanche probe offers indication for approaching and hitting of all standard avalanche transceivers (whatever model and brand) and provides unambiguous optical and acoustical indication in the probe’s handle.
The iProbe’s integrated digital technology enables a temporary deactivation of a found avalanche transceiver such as Pieps DSP or Pieps FreeRide.
Then the searcher can focus on the next strongest signal. This is a first truly 100% perfect safety solution for multiple avalanche burials!
The first acoustic tone is emitted and the LED illuminates when the tip of the iProbe is about 2 meters from the transmitting avalanche beacon.
At a distance of about 50 cm, a continuous acoustic tone is emitted and the LED remains continuously illuminated.
If the transmitting avalanche beacon supports the iProbe function, the searcher can deactivate it by pressing the MARK button on the probe handle.
By pressing the MARK button again for a longer time or by removing the iProbe tip from the vicinity of the transmitting beacon (more than 50 cm), the deactivated avalanche beacon becomes transmitting again.
