Product description
Mammut Alugator Light is a great shovel overall. It’s light, it’s packable and has a great price. The design is very nice too. However, because of its light weight it may not cut through thick crusts as easily as some more heavier snow shovels (which are bigger and cost more as well).
The Alugator aluminum shovel shaft is telescopic and round. The shovel features a T-grip style handle.
The aluminum scoop is quite big for such a light snow shovel and allows for fast shoveling in case of emergency.
Mammut is well known for many quality outdoor products and they are one of the leaders in avalanche safety industry too. If you like this brand the get the Alugator Light to go with the great Mammut Pulse avalanche beacon.
If you want a little more stronger aluminum shovel while still keeping the weight down then check out Backcountry Access Traverse EXT or the Ortovox Beast snow shovels.
