This snow study kit contains four key tools needed for thorough snow study – digital thermometer, 6x magnifier, crystal card and slope meter. All this is nicely packaged inside a padded case that protects these sensitive tools from being damage while bouncing around in your backpack.
The temperature is displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The 6x magnifying loupe gives you a close look at the snow structure. And pocket sized aluminum crystal card has printed information on basic snow crystal types and is perfect for quick reference.
The Backcountry Access slope meter accurately measures the angle of the slope you’re on so you can avoid dangerous exposure. Also, it is a neat to tool in teaching you to be more precise with your own judgment when guessing slope angles.
